Have you ever noticed how employees working at places like Starbucks or Chick-fil-A often seem willing to go the extra mile to serve their customers? We frequently hear things like: “It would be my pleasure” or “Can I get you anything else?” or “Don’t worry about that, we will take care of it.”
At these establishments the employees have a developed culture and a shared purpose. They also believe in a common standard for how their shared purpose should be carried out. Each employee learns the common standard, the shared purpose and the culture through a training process. In a way they commit themselves to being disciples of the organization.
A “disciple” is someone who is committed to learning a particular way of being and then living accordingly. You can be a disciple of a school, a sports program, a job and much more. The question we all must ask is why am I a disciple of this or that? At Calvary we believe people need transformation and that real life transformation happens when people commit to being disciples of Jesus Christ and his way of being. Regardless of where you are at spiritually—new believer, seasoned believer, jaded believer—we invite you to explore the various opportunities at Calvary where you can discover or rediscover Jesus Christ and learn his way of being.
