What to Expect
From the moment you walk through our doors it is our hope you feel welcomed here.
Come as you are. Some folks dress up while others dress casually. If you have kids, you might want to come a few minutes early to check them in; the kids worship separately with other kids their own age. When you come into the main doors, look to your right. There is an information desk staffed with a helpful volunteer. This person can answer any questions you have and point you in the right direction.
Our service starts promptly on time and lasts between 60-70 minutes. Our service is designed to help you encounter God and be inspired to become a follower of Jesus or grow as one. You can’t categorize our Sunday mornings with labels like, “contemporary” or “traditional”. Instead, each week there is a mixture of ancient and new, high-church liturgy and low-church spontaneity. Sometimes we sing old hymns acapella and other times we rock and dance to the newest praise song. The goal of our gathering is not entertainment but to help facilitate encounter. We will use all the riches of the church to help make that happen.
This means that sometimes you will love a part of the service and other times you won’t get what is happening. THIS IS BY DESIGN. Your heart soars when an element stirs you and you praise God for a moment of connection. When a part of the service doesn’t make sense to you still you praise God because when you look around, you see that what doesn’t “work” for you helps other encounter the living God. We deeply want everyone who gathers with us to encounter the living Jesus.
The preaching team teaches through series and seek to exegete a passage with the goal of encouraging you and helping you to follow Jesus. We encourage people to download a bible app for their phone or bring their bible with them (but don’t worry, we have bibles located underneath the seats in our worship center). The sermon lasts 20-30 minutes.
A Sunday morning is a win when you encounter the living God; it’s a win when a seeker makes a commitment to Jesus; a service is a win if you came hopeless but you leave filled with hope; it is a win when you take another step in growing as a disciple; a Sunday morning is a win if you leave empowered to be on Jesus mission. Nothing else matters.
We know coming to a new church can be a little intimidating. So if you want to connect with someone before hand, please e-mail us here and let us know when you are coming. We will visit you at the door.
